Chris Bartlett is widely recognised as a leading expert in enterprise search. Working in senior technical roles at DEC, Credit Suisse, Verity, Autonomy, FAST and most recently as VP of Technology at Exalead, he has an unrivalled understanding and knowledge of the search industry. Chris has a particular strength in identifying new and innovative approaches to addressing existing organisational and information needs. He has worked as the lead search expert to define global strategy, technological architecture and platform design for some of the largest enterprise search projects in the world.
As a co-founder of Dahu, Chris loves to get involved at the coal-face, designing and coding components for Dahu in C++, Perl and Ruby. Chris frequently contributes to the wider enterprise search community through blogs and other contributions on search-technology forums and web sites.
Vince McNamara has been working in search for over 15 years. Working at Verity from 1997 to 2004, he was the lead technical consultant and project manager on many major search projects, working with ft.com, UBS, BT, Sainsburys and the UK government's directgov project, amongst others. After moving to Switzerland to manage the enterprise search strategy for a global multi-national company, he moved on to run the Professional Services team at Exalead before co-founding Dahu, a next-generation search company.
He is passionate about creating elegant solutions to hard problems. His technical skills include coding in C++, Java, Perl, Ruby, XML, as well as project management, search strategy, and search-related solution architecture and design. Vince holds a PhD and BSc from Imperial College, London, and an MSc from Birkbeck College, London, and spent several years as a post-doctoral research scientist in the USA.
